This is a subject near to my heart, for I have looked for an illustrator with whom I can collaborate on several children's books. If anyone has a suggestion I would be grateful.
Thank you for your visit. I am, however afraid that I cannot write a story about a happy little girl tending a beautiful plant. The contrast is too great compared to my memories. It reminds me of the short time I was allowed to have a little kitchen garden in the concentration camp.I grew sweet potatoes and when they were ready for consumption all the sixteen inmates of our house ate of it. After that we were slowly to be starved,we talked food we wrote recipes, we prayed each night for food. I was ten years old, my sisters were six and four. We were far from happy, and to weak to grow plants with edible fruit or other parts. So you see that I am not fit to write a story, but thank you for the invitation all the same.Have a great day! Very great meme!
thank you so much for your comments but I think they may have gone under the wrong post ! you commented after a poem about transplants the proper link to the poem about this link is at http://lifeindegrees.blogspot.com/2011/07/mummy-why-cant-i-plant-my-tree-where-my.html
This is my first time entering and I fear I kind of veered off topic just a little bit (I got carried away by emotion if that is any excuse?). Although I wouldn't want a child to read my poem (too dark) the prompt took me down the road of how wonderful it is to have someone who cares for you... And in my life no one has done that better than my mother.

Hello Bluebell Books. You invited me to be in the 5 weeks challenge and I am stoked to be in. What do I need to do to part take? I wrote an entry just now for this event, and I also wrote this one for your week 2 event: http://graasky.net/2011/07/11/before-my-feet-she-rots/ However, I do now see that entries have closed, and I guess that means that I should not write entries for all 5 weeks, just for the current week? Is that right? Thanks for having me in your challenge, I am enjoying the writing as well as reading all the great entries. All the best, Grå Sky, graasky.net
Ups, I posted from the wrong profile :) I apologize...

Hello, my dear little plant
This is the only thing I want
It will be a lot better
If we both grow together
It's my one prayer
We both need love and care
May God give us strong roots
To give one and all shade & fruits
