I love the blue in the picture, and the curves.

What is the word limit for slam? Maybe mine is too long...?

LOL! I published my poems based on the exclamation point and then when I went to view them, that's not what it was. I fought with it for several minutes to change it back. Too funny!! Oh well, mine will just be different I guess.

I've thrown my 811 words into the mix as well - working my way through everyone's contributions and looking forward to reading all of them! Gorgeous photo/image to work with, but it took me a couple days to settle on an idea! It was truly a challenge.

Thanks for the reminder for the Short Story Slam. Inspired by your picture to write a poem, a kind of tribute to those who wait in hope for their sailor's safe return. Hope it's not too "cliché!" :-) Enjoy, and happy writing to all!

So, my poem has nothing to do with pirate ships and abandoned maidens, but it does have to do with water. You just never know where your mind will go.

I tried a short story but the structure is all over the place. Still added it though, but not with my usual enthusiasm. Ah, well....here's to reading how it should be done...!!

No worrying, Lena.

will read you now.

Happy Writing.
