I am Ina Schroders-Zeeders, I live on an island in the north of the Netherlands, married, 3 sons, and I am a novel writer

Tell me about your blog(s), name(s), what does it mean to you?  

The wordpress blog (Ina) is now mostly poetry in English, I do that for fun, to be creative that way

What's the theme(s) of your blog(s)? What do you write most?

poetry, fiction or novel, or short stories?

 I have a blog with my family tree as well, and now this poetry. I also have a blog Poetry from the sea on wordpress, with poems inspired by or about the sea: http://poetryfromthesea@wordpress.com

What are the inspirations of your writing? :

Relations, love, sea

Does music impact your writing?

Sometimes. I like some songs and use the music to make new song lyrics. At the moment they are making a demo of one of my poems, in New Orleans I think that is fun to do too.

You are involved with Bluebell Books Short Story Slam writing challenge? How do you feel about it so far? What are the benefits of it?

I have done a few and it is fun. The benefits are that you learn how others interoperate a subject.

Do you have a favorite blogging friend to share? Tell us about his/her blog link and the writing in it!

Meet Our Writers Week 3 on Mish

Greetings: hope your day goes well, today, we are going to meet our Tuesday Fiction Book Review official, mish, who has been with Bluebell Books ever since the first week, and she contributes to short story slams on weekly basis, and her talent in creative fiction is outstanding...let's hear what she is about to say on writing and blogging...

Tell us about yourself:

I’m an educator and a musician . I have always been an avid reader . The writing part of it , only surfaced late in my life and that is why I call myself a “late bloomer” . I think that , for a long time , I wondered if I really had any writing skills worth exploring …  

Tell me about your blog(s), name(s), what does it mean to you? 

My blog is Writer~in~transit … the journey never ends .

 It means that writing is a never-ending process . The journey is the most important part . It is an adventure that involves meeting and interacting with many different people from different places , who will share experiences and offer advice/support/comments that influence and enhance the writing journey .

I refer to myself as a writer-in-the-making (instead of aspiring writer that most people use)

When have you started blogging?

I started blogging from last year September , but changed over to my current blog from January of this year .

 What do you write most? poetry, book review or cooking recopies  short stories?

I enjoy writing non-fiction and fiction ; but recently I’ve been writing more fiction (short stories … and maybe a longer one … in the future …?)

What are the inspirations of your writing?

With regards to my fiction -  anything can be a source of inspiration – a word ; a picture ; a memory ; a song ... music definitely plays a major role in setting a mood or atmosphere for creative writing … classical music is very inspiring !

I enjoy the Bluebell Short Story Slam prompts ! 

Do you have a favorite book or author?

I love the mystery/suspense/thriller genre . Over the years , I’ve read countless books by the following authors : James Patterson , John Grisham , Harlan Coben  Sidney Sheldon , Iris Johansen , John Sandford , Ken Follett . But I’ve also learned to read other genres as well .  Writers are always advised to read widely , anything and everything  , fiction and non-fiction . I also enjoy biographical novels and inspirational fiction / non-fiction and have recently read books by Malcolm Gladwell ( The Tipping Point ; Blink ) ; Robin S. Sharma ( The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari ) ; Richard Stengel ( Mandela’s Way : Lessons On Life )  and an assortment of others .  

Do you have a favorite quote?

I have many favorite quotes , but the following come to mind :

What's your writing plans?

 I have short-term , medium-term and long-term goals . The short and medium-termed goals are participating in shorter writing challenges to keep the “mental writing muscles” in good shape .

My long-term goal would be to write a longer piece of fiction – but that’s still in the pipe line …maybe in the next 5 to 10 years … J

Meet Our Writers Week 2 - On e. a. s. demers

Tell us about yourself

Hi, I'm e.a.s demers----  bookseller by day, book writer by night!

I'm originally from Memphis, TN and now live just outside Little Rock, AR. 

I've been a manager at a big chain bookstore for about 5 yrs, and have worked in the retail half of the book industry for about 8 yrs. I graduated college with a Biology degree. And, before that, spent most of my high school years and childhood studying music. I guess I had a hard time trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. 

The one constant, throughout everything however, has always been writing. For me, it was the easiest way to express my thoughts and feelings. So, now, I am aspiring author with hopes of one day seeing my thoughts in print. 

Tell me about your blog(s), name(s), what does it mean to you? 

I currently have two blogs: 

From the Inkwell, From the Vein... -- This is my main blog. The title comes loosely from the idea that all you have to do to write is open a vein.... 

Humphrey's Typewriter --  This is an experimental blog that I've recently started. The title comes from the very first NaNoWriMo I participated in. My NaNo mentor suggested I give my inner editor/critic a name, so it would be easier to ignore/silence them! Thus, Humphrey was born. I suppose he's my alter ego, or at least my alter something.

When have you started blogging?

I started blogging in 2007, but I've really only been actively blogging the last year or so.

What's the theme(s) of your blog(s)? What do you write most? poetry, book review or cooking recopies  short stories?

The theme of my main blog centers around writing... what I'm working on, maybe some poetry, what's happening around me, etc. I wanted to use it as a way to connect to other writers/readers who might want a fellow writer/reader companion.  

My experimental blog is still a work-in-progress, so for the moment, I'm just testing the water.

What are the inspirations of your writing?

Can I say everything? 

There is potential in every facet of life. That's the coolest thing about writing, everything matters. Even the smallest things are important. I can hear the start of a short story in the rain falling outside my window. Or, catch the glimpse of a poem in the way a woman folds her husband's shirt.

Does music impact your writing?

Yes it does. Though I find, if I'm working on something that I really need to concentrate on, the piece must be instrumental. Otherwise, I find myself singing along instead of writing. 

I find it very beneficial to listen to powerful soundtracks, especially from dramatic scenes in films. When I want to write an emotionally powerful scene-- suddenly the scene in my story plays out like a movie inside my mind.

You are involved with bluebell book-The Book Review and Short Story Writing Challenge Blog, what is your role? what's the benefits of it?

My role as part of the Short Story Slam is to select the "Story of the Week". I love participating. It is such a pleasure to read through everyone's contributions and to connect with such amazing writers! I wish I could pick every story as the "Story of the Week".

Do you have a favorite book or author?

Oh, I have so many favorites... Some of my top authors are, Tolkien, Dickens, Paul Auster, Neil Gaiman, Joyce Carol Oates, J.K. Rowling

Some of my top books are, The Lord of the Rings, Shadow of the Wind, The Book of Illusions, Harry Potter series, The Book Thief 

Do you have a favorite quote?

I have 2, both of which are featured on my main blog---

My only tips for those starting out in the blogosphere....  Write about what you love. Write about the things you are passionate about. But, most importantly---Have fun!

Tell us about yourself

I am Blaga and I am just a normal girl who enjoys simple things of the day. I'm in love with the blue of the sea, the green of the eyes and the purple of the rainbow. I love traveling, I collect post cards and poetry is my new passion.

Tell me about your blog(s), name(s), what does it mean to you? 

My blog is called Broken Sparkles - http://brokensparkles.wordpress.com/, originally the name of the blog was Scent of my heart, but few months after I started it, I had to deal with technical problems and I had to change the url of the blog. I was so frustrated that my poems posted at "Scent of my heart", even though not perfect, had to suffer, that I decided to change the blog name and give to the sparkles of my muse a bitter-sweet taste, so that's why Broken Sparkles.

When have you started blogging?

My first post was on 3rd of October 2010, so there isn't even an year yet to celebrate with my blog, but I'm very happy that I have it!

What's the theme(s) of your blog(s)? What do you write most? poetry, book review or cooking recopies  short stories?

I find it easier to express myself through poetry, but lately I've been into writing short stories, some of which I find pretty good myself.

What are the inspirations of your writing?

Well, you can find inspirations anywhere, as long as you let them show you the way. Music is a major inspirational source for me, some personal feelings and happenings, but sometimes it might be just a single word from a newspaper and a poem comes.

Do you have a favorite book or author?

I am a book lover, I'm afraid if I have to make a list of all books that I like, it will take some time to finish the list. But there are few books that had a great imprint on me:

"A place called freedom" by Ken Follett

"Gone with the wind" by Margaret Mitchell 

"The Kite runner" by Khaled Hosdseini

And when it comes to poetry, I'm really fond of Robert Frost, Charles Bukowski, Pablo Neruda and Oscar Wilde.

Do you have a favorite quote?

Yes, many favorite quotes, but right now what comes to my mind is

Which, as they kiss, consume"
— William Shakespeare (Romeo and Juliet)

Any tips for those who started blogging?

Just enjoy whatever you do, express yourself without fears and welcome the world of the Muses with a smile.

What's your writing plans?

I'm currently working on a story that takes place in India, because I've never been to India, it takes time to do a research and get a glimpse of how life is over there, but the idea is strongly attached with me and I plan on writing it to the end, no matter how much time will consume.
