Hello dear readers from the land of late summer!

The kiddies are back in school and there is a definite shift in the air.

The first fall leaves are beiginning to drift down and autumn is hovering nearby. In honor of this wonderful time of year I bring you am absolute FIND of a writer!

Her name is  Birdie Jaworska. She lives and writes along the Rio Grande Bosque. She is the author of several books that dive in to the strange intersection between Avon, Star Trek, and the Land of Enchantment. I first met her at another website. A quirky off beat Indie writer, I just couldnt get enough of her words. Soon I was following her blog and reading what I could find that she had written. She is beginning to have quite the visible foor print on the internet now and I couldnt be happier, not just for her (of course) but for all the readers who are about to discover her!

Here is a poem she wrote that recently got publised here:

Birdes poem is on page 51 just keep clicking!

A fun little book of reipes of everything from brownies to brussel sprouts blended and interspersed with some poetry with a lovely spice.

Here is Birdies Poem,

I'd Write A Poem About New Mexico, But

I keep telling her stories

search out the insane bits
smothered in vintage price tag

anglo
New Mexican't
appropriator

They arent wrong

gringo, golosa

Its my sun too

Frozen dust spackles my window corners
winds scrape gray clouds against a blunt steel
box meant for hauling rodeo steer

I am slick ordinary, plastic Virgin Mary
a dim mixing bowl heaped with salted pork

I am twisted white-girl braids hiding calico
or one upturned sole made of tire-blown rubber

I didn't want to be Outsider but god pushed me
onto a rusty conveyor belt

I rolled past watermelon haze hills

chico, chile

I am rum yellow moths under her medicine light
