let the fun begin.
Cheers.
It's okay,
we will use yours next time,
hope all is well.
Such fun indeed! The photo has already inspired the makings of a poem for me. Thank you for the invite to participate, Bluebell.
Bluebellbooks, Hooooooooaaaaaa!
I had such fun with this prompt !!
Happy Reading !!
awesome choice of image. posted my entry.
Cheers to reading!
A favorite John Wayne quote on courage came to mind. I posted a previously written piece, which is not exactly a direct take on the picture, but it has to do with strength and courage (and it's the first thing that came to mind when I saw this weeks picture!) Thanks for sharing such a great image!
Thanks for the invite, Bluebell.
Thanks for the invite. I was not going to do this at first. But then humor hit me and said why not.
A fun example to start a story. What would the Duke do? He got lost in the ending of my story.
Haven't seen any John Wayne movies and the poem is not about him. So John Wayne fans , please don't get offended:-)
I haven't seen any John Wayne films except "The Quiet Man" either...and my story is not about Wayne...but I got as close as I could with a story I wrote a week or two earlier. Hopefully it works for ya.
I had no clue what to make of the picture.
But i did have fun thinking abt a almost buy able story cum report kind of thing...
hope u enjoy it..
oh boy did I have fun with this.
welcome and have fun, guys..
This is very cool. I hadn't seen this before. So do I write a poem or story and then put up the link when it's done. Or do I sign up ahead of time and then start browsing entries on a certain day?
Angela,
after you post your entry, link it here, or you can link your general link first, post later, we can find it when we comment,
welcome in!
Interesting idea, but since Blogger is having so many issues with commenting I will have to pass on the invitation. Good luck.
What a great idea. I don't have time this week to do it but I will sign up for sure in a future week.
Grew up loving John Wayne. He was always my hero.
This was a lot of fun, Hell Yeah! :)
I went into this one blind as a bat! I know virtually nothing about the wild west/cattle ranch genre so I just bottled it and scribbled the first thingg that came into my head. Haha I sucked at this one!
i'm not a big fan of John Wayne, but i gave it a shot.
John Wayne and his fan's -forgive me!
Andy, no need to stick to John Wayne...
create anything you wish,
Haikulovesong, welcome.
Butterflies of time, feel free to write.
Cheers.
I did write ,Jingle , that's why I asked for forgiveness.LOL
This was lovely. Short Story Slam. I gonna be a regular.... I have just written one...
Thanks for the invite -- this was FUN!
you did well, Butterflies of Time,
Welcome, Shail, and Louise.
Happy Saturday.
I'm in - thanks for the invite. This provoked an interesting response in me!
Posted this late, the inspiration came today, at the shower. Will get back tomorrow to do some reading.
Great idea. I'll be back next week for some story slam fun!
Thanks for visiting my blog and making me aware of this fun place. I will be back and may even try a short story some day.--Inger
Thanks for telling me about this site. I've posted my first short story to your site. Hope you like it!

Okay I tried something, although I never saw a cowboy in my life lol.
Well, I've given this a shot though I admit I worked not so much with the picture but the iconic figure's familiar nickname...
Well I hope I did all things correctly here and a photo shows up as well...enjoy Bluebell Books(+)
Dom*;)
Dom*, can you give me the specific poem link?
I am confused, which poem is your entry to short story slam?
cheers.
So glad I finally made it!!What a week!!
Sort of fun..thanks for the head start...
I too chose to write about my thoughts this image brought to mind, rather than the big JW himself. I hope it works with the theme. :-)
LOVED the one by Nandini Hebbar. Kudos!
Has this week's been published?
Feel like I'm a bit late to the party, but, finally got my post up last night :-)
